OFMA'S ROGERS WANTS TO MAKE RAIDERS PSLS PERMANENT

Oakland Football Marketing Association (OFMA) Marketing
Dir Richard Rogers "is pushing" to make PSLs permanent,
"hoping to lure fans to buy 20,000 empty football seats at
the Coliseum," according to Renee Koury of the SAN JOSE
MERCURY NEWS. But as they try to negotiate a new marketing
strategy to sell seats, Oakland and Alameda County officials
remain at odds with Raiders Owner Al Davis "over their
conflicting financial interests." PSL revenues go to the
city and county, while game-ticket money goes to the
Raiders. City Council and OFMA member Ignacio De La Fuente
said that he "supports" the PSL plan, "but only with other
changes in how the stadium's revenue gets split." Raiders
attorney Amy Trask: "This organization has never opposed
making seat licenses permanent, and in fact we've been
proponents of doing that for a very long time. We, however,
don't feel that existing PSL holders should be charged
additional money" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 7/20).
