IMG INKS THE REAL DEAL FOR HIS MARKETING ENDEAVORS

WBA Heavyweight Champ EVANDER HOLYFIELD has signed with
IMG for exclusive marketing representation for endorsements,
public appearances, licensing, literary projects and other
non-boxing related commercial venues (IMG). In Atlanta,
Jeff Schultz profiles Holyfield's finances under the header
"35 Million Reasons To Fight." Schultz reports that
Holyfield "has invested heavily in a new clothing line,
Holyfield Warrior," and that he has "taken two major
monetary hits," including a divorce settlement and "the
closure of an auto dealership that required a bailout of
some" $1.5M. Schultz adds that Holyfield "faces a financial
drain" from his house being built in GA: "Construction
overruns on the mega-home will bring the final cost toward
$20 million. Amenities at the house and upkeep of the
grounds will cost over $1 million a year." Holyfield will
make a guaranteed $35M for Saturday's fight (ATLANTA
     CONSTITUTION, 6/27).
