          Fortune Brands Inc.'s Cobra Golf unit said that Arnold
     Palmer Golf Co. recalled two golf-club lines as part of a
     settlement of a trademark-infringement suit filed last week. 
     Arnold Palmer Golf "denied that it intended to copy the
     Cobra Golf clubs, but said it agreed to recall them to avoid
     any confusion" between the companies' products (WALL STREET
     JOURNAL, 6/18)....ADWEEK's Katy Eckmann reported that
     Daytona USA "has pulled the creative portion" of its account
     with FL-based Fry/Hammond/Barr in-house.  Daytona USA's Jeff
     Allen "cited cost-effectiveness" as the reason for parting
     with the agency.  The budget was estimated at $1M when
     Fry/Hammond/Barr landed the account almost two years ago
     (ADWEEK, 6/16)....Advertisers in the September premiere
     issue of Conde Nast Sports For Women include Nike, GM, Ralph
     Lauren, The North Face, Armani eyewear and skiwear, Evian,
     Lee Jeans, L.L. Bean, the Milk Board and State Farm
     Insurance (MEDIAWEEK, 6/16)....Pro Player said it had sold
     $200,000 worth of Yankees-Mets "Battle of New York"
     merchandise as of Monday (NEWSDAY, 6/17)....Astros Manager
     Larry Dierker has signed on as spokesperson for Houston-
     based clothier Norton Ditto.  Dierker and Rockets coach Rudy
     Tomjanovich appear together on a 20-foot billboard in
     Houston (HOUSTON BUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/16)....The Mighty Ducks
     logo will be on Bill Davis Racing's No. 22 MBNA car this
     weekend at the NASCAR Winston Cup CA 500 (Mighty Ducks).
