IT'S MILLER TIME ON FOX AS THE TWO SIDES CLOSE IN ON DEAL

Miller Brewing Co. "is close to a major pact" with Fox
where it would spend $250-300M on the network's prime-time
and sports programming over the next four years, according
to Chuck Ross of AD AGE. An exec "familiar with the pending
pact" said, "Part of the appeal of the deal, from Miller's
point of view, is the close association it can make with
Fox. The beers are off MTV, and the [NBA] doesn't allow its
players to endorse beer. So how do you hit that young male
audience in a meaningful way? Fox." As part of the deal,
Miller will get beer category exclusivity on MLB games on
Fox, the 2-minute warning during Fox's NFL games will be
branded as "Miller Time." Miller will also be able to use
Fox Sports logos in various POP materials (AD AGE, 6/16).
