EVENT PRODUCTIONS: MARQUEE GROUP NAILS SKATING DEAL

          The UPN Network has signed a multi-year deal with The
     Marquee Group to air the U.S. Open Professional Figure
     Skating Championships.  The Championships marks UPN's first
     foray into sports entertainment.  The telecast will be
     produced by The Marquee Group and air November 29 at 8:00pm
     ET and November 30 at 7:00pm ET.  The Marquee Group will
     also be responsible for the marketing and promotion of the
     '97 Championship (The Marquee Group).
          EYE FOR SPEED: The Michael Johnson-Donovan Bailey
     fastest man race on June 1 will be broadcast to more than
     100 countries, including CBS airing a 60-minute live show in
     the U.S., which will include five other one-on-one track and
     field events featuring, among other, Gail Devers and Jackie
     Joyner-Kersee.  Cokin Communications Co. President Jeffrey
     Cokin served as TV consultant on behalf of the Toronto-based
     Magellan Group, the event's promoter (Cokin Communications).
          FASSI TRIBUTE: The D&F Group is the Exec Producer of "A
     Skaters Tribute to Carlo Fassi, Presented by Motorola
     Pagers," which will be taped by ESPN for airing on September
     22.  Sponsors for the event include presenting sponsor
     Motorola Pagers, Evian, Korbel Champagne and Lake Arrowhead
     Resort.  Companies supporting the ESPN telecast are Motorola
     Pagers, Campbell's Soup, Hershey's Chocolate, International
     Figure Skating Magazine, National Car Rental, State Farm
     Insurance and Visa (Ice Castle).
