STADIUM NOTES

The Twins stadium bill will be reviewed by MN Senate
and House tax committees "no earlier than" April 23. In an
analysis of the bill, the STAR TRIBUNE's Weiner, Whereatt &
Souhan write, "Details aside, there is a clear clash of
cultures in the Twins deal: the public environment of the
highly political Capitol and the circumspect assumptions of
the banker's world that [Twins Owner Carl] Pohlad and his
family are used to" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 4/11)....At
the funeral yesterday for Jack Kent Cooke, his son John
announced that the team will name its new Landover, MD
stadium for the late Redskins owner (WASHINGTON POST, 4/11).
