STILL LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT FIRST "GILBERT BURGER"

After winning the Super Bowl, several Packer players
are exploring possible endorsement opportunities, according
to Mark Kass of the BUSINESS JOURNAL OF MILWAUKEE. Although
Brett Favre's shoe deal with Nike has expired, Joe Sweeney,
president of Sports Marketing & Management Group, which
represents Favre, said the two-time MVP is also "talking to
other shoe companies" while negotiating a new agreement.
Sweeney "declined to reveal financial details of the old
contract or what Favre is seeking," but Kass notes a source
who said the "original contract was for $110,000 a year, and
that Favre is seeking a seven-figure contract" (BUSINESS
     JOURNAL OF MILWAUKEE, 2/10).
WOOKIE'S WILL LOVE THE CHEWY BAR: Gilbert Brown is in
talks to extend an ad campaign with Burger King for the
"Gilbert Burger," the renamed Double Whopper run in some WI
Burger King's during the NFL playoffs. John Drana, Brown's
agent, said much of the endorsement opportunities "depends
on whether Brown re-signs with the Packers." Drana added
that "there are a number of things in the works," including
a possible deal with Campbell's Soup. Drana represents Mark
Chmura and is in talks with Chicago-based Quaker Oats Co.
for "Chewy Bars." Drana also said he is talking with MCI's
1-800-Collect about a commercial starring Irvin Favre,
Brett's father (BUSINESS JOURNAL OF MILWAUKEE, 2/10).
