IT'S ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL SOMEONE "RIDICULES" THE CUBS

          At White Sox Chair Jerry Reinsdorf's "request," the
     team's radio partner, WMVP, will take down a sign near
     Wrigley Field that "ridicules" the Cubs, according to Joe
     Goddard of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES.  The sign reads: "Major
     League Baseball, 8.1 Miles South."  WMVP Program Dir Mitch
     Rosen: "We just put it up to get interest in interleague
     play, kind of stir things up a little."  Reinsdorf: "I know
     they meant it in good fun, but I didn't like it.  I know how
     I'd feel if they did that to us.  We have nothing against
     the Chicago Cubs" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 2/12).
