CHECKING IN WITH LACROSSE: GAZELLE GROUP TO MARKET EVENT

Princeton, N.J.-based Gazelle Group will produce the
International Lacrosse Federation World Championship to be
held in Baltimore, MD, in July '98. The Championship will
feature eleven teams from around the world and include five
games per day, over a ten day period. The event will also
include a Youth Festival, clinics, and a FanFest. Gazelle's
Roly Acosta told THE DAILY that in terms of sponsorship,
"the plan is to get a title sponsor in place as soon as
possible." Acosta said Gazelle hopes "to secure a few
sponsors at the presenting level and we are considering a
lower level, possibly an associate, but no plans are in
place yet." MI-based Warrior Lacrosse is the first sponsor
to sign on at the presenting level, holding exclusive rights
for equipment and licensing. Acosta also confirmed Gazelle
is in negotiations with several TV networks over event
     coverage (THE DAILY).
