BREWERS RAISE TICKETS; ARE METS TOUGH ENOUGH FOR INCREASE?

The Brewers are raising ticket prices on a number of
seats, although season ticket holders can still buy '97
tickets at '96 prices if they pay in full by January 15.
Among the increases: Lower grandstand and upper box seats go
from $12 to $13. Mezzanine and lower box seats will go from
$15 to $17 and lower box seats will cost increase from $18
to $20 (MILWAUKEE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 12/9).
LONG TIME SINCE '86: In N.Y., Murray Chass notes the
Mets announcing a ticket price increase: "It's also too bad
the Mets' owners act to be competitive with their ticket
prices but not with their team" (N.Y. TIMES, 12/12).
