     Orioles Owner PETER ANGELOS has bid approximately $6M to buy
the One Charles Center office tower in Baltimore and plans to
spend at least $4M to upgrade the building.  He hopes to move his
law office to the building (Baltimore SUN, 11/13)....MLB Giants
VP/Marketing & Sales MARIO ALIOTO was one of six Bay area
residents honored by the Until There's A Cure Foundation for
their contributions in the battle against AIDS (Giants)....S.F.
Mayor WILLIE BROWN criticized backup 49ers QB ELVIS GRBAC's play
in the team's loss to Dallas Sunday, calling him "an
embarrassment to humankind," adding "he can't play in any stadium
that I'm gonna assist to be built."  Brown later apologized after
learning Grbac was distracted by an illness to his nine-month-old
son, Jack, who suffers from spina bifida (S.F. CHRONICLE,
