STADIUM NOTES

In San Francisco, Iwata & Williams report that federal
authorities have expanded a probe of financier Calvin Grigsby to
focus on his dealings nationwide -- including a $220M Oakland
Coliseum bond deal and his relationship with an Alameda County,
CA supervisor. In addition to criminal and civil investigations
in Dade County, FL, federal authorities are reviewing at least
six other deals in Alameda County, NYC, Detroit and Cleveland
involving Grigsby Brandford & Co. and Grigsby's "web" of related
companies, according to "several knowledgeable" sources (S.F.
EXAMINER, 11/10).....In New York, Bob Glauber a source "with
knowledge" of the Patriots' situation said "There's no way [Pats
Owner Bob] Kraft can let (Coach Bill Parcells) go, if for nothing
else the stadium issue. There's too much at stake" (NEWSDAY,
11/10)....In Milwaukee, Joe Williams reports that WI State Rep
Bob Ziegelbauer called for an audit on all contracts and
financing arrangements associated with the new Brewers stadium to
make sure the project does not exceed the $250M price tag set by
the Legislature (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 11/12)....In
Minneapolis, Jay Weiner profiled MN citizens who are mobilizing
to have a say on the Twins ballpark. Ed Villaume, who has formed
Minnesotans for Outdoor Baseball (MOB), calls for a million
residents to donate $50-85 apiece, which would generate $50-85M.
In exchange, donors would get their names on a plaque in the
ballpark (Minneapolis STAR-TRIBUNE, 11/10).
