WNBA TO UNVEIL CITIES AND LOGOS OF INITIAL TEAMS

     The WNBA will reveal today its eight inaugural cities to
host a WNBA franchise along with team logos.  The women's pro
basketball league is set to debut June 21 for a ten-week summer
season.  In Phoenix, Jeff Metcalfe notes Phoenix will be one of
the eight cities.  Phoenix and L.A. "are expected" to be in the
Western division, "which could include Sacramento, Salt Lake City
or Houston."  The Eastern division is likely to include New York,
Chicago, Charlotte and either Cleveland or Houston, "depending on
whether" Salt Lake City and Sacramento are in the West.
Indianapolis and Denver also are finalists (ARIZONA REPUBLIC,
10/30).
