FRANCHISE NOTES

Len Pasquarelli of the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION reports the
Falcons and QB Jeff George reached a "settlement of their
differences" during a grievance hearing. George will be docked
three-quarters of a one-game check, or about $160,000, for his
September 22 sideline incident. George could have been penalized
$855,529 if an arbiter had upheld a four-game suspension imposed
by the team (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 10/30)....The Raiders are
6,000 tickets short of a sellout for Monday night's game versus
the Broncos. All three Raider home games this season have been
blacked out on local TV (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE, 10/30)....MLS
Commissioner Doug Logan said Philadelphia is on the league's
"long list" of potential expansion cities. Logan added MLS hopes
to expand by six clubs (to 16 teams) by 2004 (PHILADELPHIA DAILY
NEWS, 10/29).
