SKINS SEASON TICKET WAIT LIST REMAINS A BELTWAY BOTTLENECK

Although the new 78,600-seat Redskins stadium, scheduled for
completion by the '97 season, will seat over 22,000 more than
RFK Stadium, only about 4,000 on the team's 49,000 season-ticket
waiting list, will receive the chance to buy tickets, according
to Thomas Heath of the WASHINGTON POST. There is "little relief"
for waiting list members, because the new facility includes only
about 5,000 new general admission seats. The team has sold out
nearly all 15,000 ($100-200 per game) club-level seats, and has
leased more than half of the 284 suites, which cost from $59,000-
159,000 per year. Although the stadium is about 45% done,
preliminary plans have the team opening the regular season with
four potential road games (WASHINGTON POST, 10/26).
