     While Bob Hope ended his contract with NBC, he will
continue, for this year, to introduce the AP All-American
Football Team.  NBC will also carry the Bob Hope Golf Tournament
in January (NEWSDAY, 1O/24)....SportsTicker has received a
license from the NFL to disseminate detailed in-progress game
updates (SportsTicker)....The Topps Co. has launched its web site
at http://www.topps.com (Topps)....SI For Kids has published a
special collectible edition of the magazine based on the Warner
Bros. movie "Space Jam."  SI For Kids' "Inside Space Jam" hits
newsstands nationwide on October 28 (SI for Kids)....Alan
Breznick writes in CABLE WORLD that the recent court victory for
the NBA banning Bulls games from being shown nationally on
Chicago's WGN, "may also prompt new moves by two other pro sports
leagues, Major League Baseball and the NHL, against superstation
carriage of their games."  Paul Kagan Associates Senior Analyst
John Mansell: "Over the long haul, the day of the superstation
might be on the decline" (CABLE WORLD, 10/21 issue)...."Real
Sports With Bryant Gumbel" returns November 12 with stories on
the free-agent signing of Shaquille O'Neal; Gabe Lane, the 20-
year-old high school football in Colorado with Down syndrome;
shareholders of the Packers; and betting on college campuses
(HBO).
