SASSA BECOMES CAPTAIN MARVEL

     SCOTT SASSA was named President & CEO of Andrews Group,
owners of 81% of Marvel Entertainment Group, publishers of comic
books and sports trading cards.  Sassa was former President of
Turner Entertainment Group (AD AGE, 10/24).  Sassa "faces the
formidable task of pushing Marvel into new businesses at a time
when the company is losing money," according to John Lippman of
the WALL STREET JOURNAL.  Although "still the dominant publishers
of comic books and trading cards, the company has suffered
recently as a result of a downturn in those markets and weakness
in the licensing of its characters" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 10/24).
