NETWORK NEWS AND NOTES: CNN/SI KICKS OFF IN DECEMBER

     CNN/SI, the first venture of the newly-merged Time Warner-
TBS, will launch on December 12, at 8:00 PM ET.  A press
conference will be held in New York on November 13 to announce
further details (CNN/SI).
     FOX SPORTS NET MARKET NOTES: Tom Hoffarth writes in the L.A.
DAILY NEWS that when Prime Sports becomes the Fox Sports Net,
three L.A. "Press Box" anchors will stay with the new network --
Tom Kirkland, Alan Massengale and Randy Sprague.  Among those
joining the staff will be ESPN's Suzy Kolber and former Golf
Channel anchor Dwayne Ballen (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 10/11)....Denver-
based Fox Sports Net COO Jim Martin noted Fox Sports Rocky
Mountain would "would like to get a Rockies deal done" (DENVER
POST, 10/14)....John Youngren writes from Salt Lake City that
"perhaps most impressively in Utah," Fox Sports Rocky Mountain
will continue as a "prime source" for WAC and Big Sky Conference
football and basketball games (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 10/15).
     NEWS & NOTES: SportsLine USA is expected to exceed $1M in
gross revenue this quarter for the first time (MIAMI HERALD,
10/13)....Classic Sports Network has launched on TCI and Comcast
basic cable systems in Baltimore (CSN). ...NewSport signed a deal
with Cablevision of Boston to allow the cable company to use its
own name and logo on NewSport telecasts(NewSport).
