CAA LOOKS TO ROUND UP SPONSORS FOR HOOPS TOURNAMENTS

The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) is "close" to
securing sponsorship for its men's and women's basketball
tournaments, according to John O'Connor of the RICHMOND TIMES-
DISPATCH. An announcement is expected soon on replacements for
Richfood, the title sponsor over the past seven years. CAA
Commissioner Tom Yeager would not confirm the identity of any new
sponsors, but said each new sponsor supports the tournament
staying in Richmond. Sources tell O'Connor that the new
sponsorship will be shared by "two or three major companies," one
of which will be PepsiCo (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 9/20).
