DISNEY ENTERS REALM OF TRUCK RACING

7.19.1996

     The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will stage its '97 season
opener at Walt Disney World Speedway January 19.  The race will
be promoted by IMS Events, an affiliated company of the
Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and operator of motorsports events
at the Disney Speedway.  Chevrolet Truck will be the race's title
sponsor.  Disney Sports Senior VP Phil Lengyel said the race is
an opportunity for the company to "forge a relationship" with
NASCAR and continue its association with the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway (NASCAR).
