UTAH'S ALL JAZZ STATION: TEAM INKS DEAL WITH KCNR

The Jazz signed a multi-year deal with KCNR-Kaysville to be
the flagship station of the Jazz Radio Network for all games.
The SALT LAKE TRIBUNE's Jim Fisher notes the deal gives the Jazz
"a broader audience, since the games also will be seen and heard
live" on the station's Internet. The games will be available
through Realtime Audio at http://www.kdcol.com/ kcnr/. Jazz
VP/Broadcasting Randy Rigby confirmed the Jazz have "strongly
encouraged KCNR to pursue the (AAA) Salt Lake Buzz," although
Buzz Owner Joe Buzas said they were happy with carrier KISN. The
Jazz's move to KCNR came after contract talks with the team and
KISN, their flagship for the past 11 seasons, "abandoned late
last month." Fisher notes losing both the Jazz and Buzz "could
be catastrophic" for all-sports KISN, which was developed "with
Jazz help" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 7/11).
