The Tampa Stadium Authority will ask the Bucs to clarify
language in a lease proposed by the team concerning a clause
allowing the Bucs to control concession sales within a mile of
the facility and one giving the club the right to keep the
stadium empty for 72 hours before or after a game (TAMPA TRIBUNE,
6/27)....Panthers Dir of Business Ops Mark Richardson, on
reaction to the team's "surprise" naming rights deal with LM
Ericsson Inc.: "When you open your door, people will call the
stadium what it is. ... Trouble comes when you take a name that
has been ingrained for years and try to change it." Ericsson
also has its name on a New Zealand soccer field (CHARLOTTE
OBSERVER, 6/27).... Crossroads Arena LLC, the operating company
for Buffalo's new Marine Midland Arena, and SEIU Local #235,
which represents ushers and ticket takers, announced a new two-
year labor agreement (Sabres)....Broward County, FL officials
will review plans for the proposed Panthers' arena after the
Paralyzed Veterans Assoc. of America raised access questions
(MIAMI HERALD, 6/26)....It cost $60,000 to lay new Bermuda grass
onto Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, a process that "may have to
be done every year" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/26)....The Cardinals
are considering removing nearly 6,200 seats in Busch Stadium's
center field upper deck to open a view of downtown (ST. LOUIS
