Ratings for ESPN's MLB coverage are up 20% from last season,
1.8 as compared to a 1.5 (ESPN)....IBM and Sears have found a
buyer for Prodigy, their "troubled" online service. A group of
Prodigy execs and International Wireless paid close to $250M --
well below the $1B that IBM and Sears have poured in since '84.
Prodigy President & CEO Edward Bennett: "Our strategy is to be
on the Internet. The great thing about Prodigy now is that so
much of our content is Web based, which means we are the best
service for accessing and aggregating content on the Internet"

Communications will take over management of Prime Cable's
properties in the Greater Houston area, an additional 130,000
customers (TCI)....In announcing its fall schedule, NBC said it
will air a special "3rd Rock From the Sun" after the Super Bowl
hoping to lure viewers away from Fox, which will be debuting a
late-night soap (N.Y. POST, 5/14)....Continental Cablevision has
added Prime Deportiva to its channel line-up in Northern CA,
reaching 132,000 customers in Fresno, Reedley and Hanford. Prime
Deportiva, the only Spanish-language sports channel, reaches 3
million homes (Prime Deportiva)....Information Resources Inc. and
Univision will join forces to try to "take the lead" in ethnic
