LEAGUE NOTES

     The Official Playing Rules Committee of MLB and the MLBPA
approved the redefinition of the bottom of the strike zone.  The
new strike zone goes in effect for spring training games
(MLB)....In preparation for some global tournaments in coming
years, PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said the Tour will begin
compiling a world money list.  Finchem had no timetable for
starting special world events, saying they are still in a
"research" process (GOLFWEEK, 2/24 issue)....Roller Hockey Int'l
announced that the '96 All-Star Game will be held at the
Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim (RHI)....Int'l Skating Union President
Ottavio Cinquanta said the ISU "might consider limiting the
number of appearances by its competitors in order to conserve the
quality and integrity of the sport" (WASHINGTON POST, 2/26).
