THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF OLYMPIC TICKETING

The "overwhelming majority" of those who participated in
random selection for tickets to the Atlanta Games have been
awarded tickets, according to ACOG. Nearly 87% can expect to
have some tickets confirmed when they receive their ticket
statements, which will be mailed September 22. On average,
customers awarded tickets will receive nine of the 17 tickets
they ordered (ACOG). The results of ticket requests "are a mixed
bag," according to Glenn Ruffenach of the N.Y. TIMES. Only 47%
will receive one or more of their first choices (N.Y. TIMES,
9/19). How "grumpy" customers become will be tested Friday, when
ACOG asks them to "use credits to buy more tickets and Olympic
paraphernalia instead of demanding refunds" (Ben Brown, USA
TODAY, 9/19).
