NHL, U.S. Embassy Hold China Event Ahead Of Games Next Week

The NHL and the U.S. Embassy hosted an event today in Beijing ahead of the league’s first games in China next week. The event, called “Hockey Night,” served as an introduction to the sport for the more than 200 in attendance, teaching and rules and strategies as well as presenting the league’s hockey development plan in China. The 50-minute session was also streamed live, garnering more than 1 million video starts, according to the league. In attendance were NHL Exec VP/Media & Int’l Strategy David Proper, NHL VP/Business Development & Int’l Affairs Kevin Westgrath, U.S. Embassy Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Alan Clark and Beijing Int’l Ice Hockey’s Joe Zhang and Conor Smith.
