USF Exploring Four Sites For New Football Stadium, Projected At $200M

USF administrators today indicated that they are "exploring four sites on the campus' southern end for a possible on-campus football stadium." USF "looked at 14 other stadiums around the country to get the best perspective of what kind of facility would work best." A 41-page report pinpoints sites in two "zones." The projected capacity is 40,000-50,000, and expected costs are roughly $200M. USF VP/Administrative Services Calvin Williams "stressed no educational or general state funds would be used to finance the facility," though "student fees may or may not be another matter" (TAMPABAY.com, 8/8).
