Elliott's Ride Supplants Earnhardt's For Top Spot In Diecast Sales

NASCAR diecast licensee Lionel Racing Collectibles this morning released its '16 best-selling diecast list, which showed that rookie Chase Elliott's No. 24 NAPA Chevrolet supplanted Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s cars for the top spot. This is the first time since '11 that one of Earnhardt's cars did not earn the top slot. While Elliott’s NAPA car came in first, Earnhardt, who missed half the season with a concussion issue, placed No. 2, 3, 4 and 9 on the list with paint schemes from multiple partners and took the win in the aggregate. Retired driver Jeff Gordon, who filled in for Earnhardt at some races this season, came in second in overall driver sales, while Elliott came in third.

Kurt Busch made his first appearance in the top 10 at No. 7 with his No. 41 Monster Energy Chevy. Kevin Harvick also made the top 10, with two Busch beer schemes in the top 10. Series champion Jimmie Johnson’s No. 48 Lowe’s Chevy scheme finished at No. 8.
