Maple Leafs Reveal Further Plans For Centennial Celebration

The Maple Leafs today "kicked off their centennial season celebration" at the Hockey HOF, "opening an exhibition detailing the team’s up-and-down history." The team "plans to wear Toronto St. Patricks green on March 18," and will send its 18 "honoured player banners on an international tour." The Leafs also said that the celebratory year "would end Dec. 19, 2017 on the actual 100th anniversary of the first game played by the Toronto Arenas." The club "had previously announced some commemorative events for their 100th season, including the new oversized logo and an outdoor game at BMO Field on Jan. 1" (THESTAR.com, 7/7).
