Blue Jays Tonight Hosting Rebranded "The Leadoff" Fan Event

The Blue Jays tonight will host "The Leadoff" at Rogers Centre, and the team is billing the event, formerly branded as "State of the Franchise," as a chance for "an inside look at the ball club." Club officials said that the "gathering will feature more razzle-dazzle," with "more production and more video presentation." The participants – including President & CEO Mark Shapiro, GM Ross Atkins, manager John Gibbons and CF Kevin Pillar – "will no longer be seated in cozy chairs on top of the first-base dugout roof but on a stage that will be set up on the field" (GLOBE & MAIL, 2/4).
