The Union on Friday formally announced the MLS club has parted ways with CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. Chief Revenue Officer Dave Rowan will assume day-to-day business operations in the interim (Union).

NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer has officially landed a Sprint Cup Series home for his "gap year" before joining Stewart-Haas Racing in '17. Bowyer in '16 will drive the HScott Motorsports No. 15 Chevy, with primary sponsorship from 5-Hour Energy in 24 races. HSM will have a "technical alliance with SHR" (MOTORSPORT.com, 10/2).

U.S. women's national soccer team G Hope Solo "will again face domestic violence charges" after a Washington state appeals court today "reversed a lower court's decision to dismiss a case in which she was alleged to have beaten up her nephew and half-sister" (ESPN.com, 10/2).
