NFL Using Golden Super Bowl 50 Logo In Season-Long Branding Effort

A golden Super Bowl 50 logo will adorn the 50-yard line of each NFL field this upcoming season, part of a season-wide branding campaign to celebrate Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7 at Levi's Stadium. The NFL unveiled the campaign within the past hour at its annual owners meeting in Arizona. The NFL shield logo also will be golden at every stadium, and team logos and sideline apparel will contain golden accents for special events. Starting in Week 7, Nike and New Era sideline apparel will reflect the golden celebration. Merchandise reflecting the golden 50 celebration goes on sale Oct. 15.

The campaign is called "On The Fifty" and is designed to link the previous Super Bowls, from honoring game MVPs to Super Bowl homecomings at select teams. The previous 43 Super Bowl MVPs also will be honored on the field at the game in Santa Clara. During the season, there will be 19 Super Bowl rematches. The NFL Draft also will reflect the campaign, with a gold carpet instead of a red one.
