Raiders Sign One-Year Lease To Remain O.co Coliseum Tenant

The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority on Friday approved a "short-term lease renewal" for the Raiders to remain at O.co Coliseum through the '15 NFL season, as expected. The team will pay $400,000 "with an additional fee for use of the training facility in Alameda." The lease "must now be approved by the Oakland City Council and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors" (NBCBAYAREA.com, 3/6).

Meanwhile, Raiders Owner Mark Davis in a Friday podcast said that he and Chargers Owner Dean Spanos "talked about getting together" on a proposed stadium in Carson, Calif., "six weeks ago." He added that he is "familiar with the site from past suggestions and says it’s a 50-50 proposal." Davis: "We have very similar business principles – so it’s really working pretty good." He said the Carson site has "the prerequisites that I’m most interested in," such as freeway access and available parking (MERCURYNEWS.com, 3/6).
