Minor League Baseball Draws 41 Million Fans In '14, Up 2.1%

Minor League Baseball finished its '14 season with a final attendance of 42.4 million, up 2.1% from a year ago and the third-highest figure ever for the affiliated minors. This year's total trails only those posted in '07 and '08. The final '14 attendance total also marked the 10th straight season in which MiLB surpassed 41 million in attendance. The Triple-A Int'l League Charlotte Knights, playing in a new downtown ballpark, led all of MiLB in attendance with a season draw of 687,715.

"This was a good, solid performance by the vast majority of our clubs," said MiLB President Pat O'Conner. "The new stadiums in Charlotte and El Paso certainly helped and contributed a lot to the increase. But overall, it was a really good, strong year, and clubs continue to do a great job in their local communities, and this is another sign to the health of the entire industry."
