Learfield Sports Announces 10-Year Rights Deal With Temple Univ.

Learfield Sports today formally announced that it will represent Temple Univ. athletics for the next 10 years, beginning with the '14-15 athletic season. Temple AD Kevin Clark said that the school "will see a significant increase in rights fees." Temple is in the final year of a multimedia rights agreement with Comcast-Spectacor's Front Row Marketing, which has had a relationship with the school since '05. IMG College and CBS Collegiate Sports Properties also bid for the school's rights. Clark "wouldn’t specify the financial terms of the deal, but did say it would be worth well into seven figures over the life of the contract" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/3 issue).
