Cobb County (Ga.) political and business leaders on Friday held a groundbreaking for the first of about $1B in infrastructure improvements near the future site of the Braves' ballpark. The Cumberland Community Improvement District is "joining forces with the county, state and federal governments" on a $35M plan to expand U.S. 41. CCID Chair Tad Leithead
said, "People keep asking, 'Are you doing improvements because the Braves are coming?' The Braves are coming because we’re doing transportation improvements."
