Soccer Match At Lucas Oil Stadium Could Draw More Than 40,000

Tonight's Inter Milan-Chelsea match at Lucas Oil Sadium is "expected to draw a crowd of more than 40,000 fans and 154 credentialed media members from five countries." NASL Indy Eleven President & GM Peter Wilt "thinks brisk game-day ticket sales ... could push attendance higher than projected." The venue is configured to seat about 61,000 for the match, which is part of the multi-city Guinness Int'l Champions Cup (IBJ.com, 7/31). The Motz group has installed a temporary natural grass surface, "the first time it has been used at Lucas Oil Stadium since it opened" in '08 (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 7/31).
