Falcons Shift Focus To New Potential Site For Future Stadium

The Falcons today informed the Georgia World Congress Center Authority that the preferred south site for the team's new stadium is "not feasible at this time because the needed property hasn't been acquired." The GWCCA then voted to allow the Falcons to "begin due diligence work, including a soil study, on the north site." The team had set an Aug. 1 deadline for reaching a deal to acquire two churches at the south site: Mount Vernon Baptist and Friendship Baptist (AJC.com, 7/30).
