Michael Waltrip Racing will honor the victims of the marathon bombings by running special door numbers on its three NASCAR Sprint Cup entries Sunday in the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. Team owner Michael Waltrip finished the marathon in '00 (MWR). Sporting News' Bob Pockrass on his Twitter feed reported Roush Fenway Racing entries "will have the B-Strong stickers on their cars" this weekend (TWITTER.com, 4/18).
Meanwhile, the MLB Rangers today announced several relief initiatives to assist victims of last night's fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas. During this weekend's home series against the Mariners, fans at Rangers Ballpark can donate essential items.
