Ravens To Open Season In Denver; NFL Releases Schedule Tonight

Ahead of the NFL's regular-season schedule release at 8:00pm ET tonight, sources say the Super Bowl champion Ravens will be "playing their first game on the road" against the Broncos. This comes after the Ravens tried to convince MLB to "move the Orioles' scheduled home game" on Thursday, Sept. 5, "in order to accommodate the 2013 NFL Kickoff game and were pinched because of religious holidays" (CBSSPORTS.com, 4/18).

The NFL "may have been open to giving the Ravens a prime-time game on the first weekend of the NFL season," but coach John Harbaugh and other members of the organization "preferred playing on the road on that Thursday because it will give the team nine days of rest before its Week 2 game"  (BALTIMORESUN.com, 4/18).

Former NBC Sports Group Chair Dick Ebersol will serve as a guest analyst tonight on NFL Network's coverage of the schedule release (THE DAILY).
