Michigan State AD Mark Hollis and Univ. of Delaware AD Bernard Muir have been named to the Division I Men's Basketball Committee. The pair, whose terms begin Sept. 1, will replace current committee Chair and Big East consultant Jeff Hathaway and Univ. of Texas-San Antonio AD Lynn Hickey, whose terms expire Aug. 31 (NCAA).

YES Network today announced that former MLB manager Lou Piniella will join the net's broadcast team for Yankees games (YES Network).

The British Olympic Association said that it will present the IOC with a bid for Glasgow to host the '18 Youth Olympics "before the deadline on March 1." Other cities bidding for the event are Buenos Aires, Argentina; Medellin, Colombia; Abuja, Nigeria; Kaspiysk, Russia and Guadalajara, Mexico (AP, 2/22).
