Buzzer Beaters....

DirecTV said that it has "reached a long-term transmission consent agreement that avoids a blackout of the Belo TV stations." Terms of the deal were not announced. The agreement comes a day after DirecTV signed a carriage deal with News Corp. (MULTICHANNEL.com, 11/2).

ESPN has reached an agreement with Advisers Media Int'l/Medge Consulting and the NHL for continued English-language coverage of NHL on the ESPN America network across more than 35 countries in Europe and Africa. NHL coverage will begin on ESPN networks on Nov. 8 (ESPN).
