Big Ten Mulls Sites For Hoops Tourneys, Football Title Game

Big Ten school presidents and chancellors on Sunday could decide "whether the league's marquee events are in Chicago or Indianapolis." The meeting outside Chicago will address whether Indianapolis remains host of the conference basketball tournaments and/or the football title game "for an extended run." Conseco Fieldhouse will host the men's and women's basketball tourneys through '12, and the inaugural football championship will be Dec. 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Both Indianapolis and Chicago last month made "in-person proposals to the Big Ten's administrative council" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 6/3).
