USOC Unveils Plans For Summer Fundraising Effort, Including PSA

The USOC today announced its "Join Team USA" fundraising initiative, which will run June 14-July 31. The organization filmed a special PSA seeking donations for Team USA featuring Olympians Natalie Coughlin (swimming), Shawn Johnson (gymnastics), Lisa Leslie (basketball), Tim Morehouse (fencing) and Marlon Shirley (Paralympic track & field). The spots will air on 400 stations nationwide, primarily local TV. USOC sponsors Hilton, Visa, United and Anheuser-Busch are supporting the campaign.
Hilton is contributing $25 to Team USA for every 10,000 Hilton Honors Points that members donate. United is encouraging members to donate their miles to Team USA. Visa will match monies raised by the USOC during the campaign. And A-B is allowing the USOC to set up activation areas at the Coke Zero 400, Taste of Chicago and Fair St. Louis.
