Power Players: Keker Van Nest & Peters

John Keker, Partner

Others active in sports representation: Adam Lauridsen, Partner; Tom Gorman, Partner

The San Francisco-based firm has a strong reputation for its litigation work, especially for MLB and its clubs. Keker, a Yale Law School graduate and 40-year veteran of jury trials, and Gorman have won dismissal of class-action antitrust lawsuits filed by MLB team scouts and minor league players. All three partners defended MLB, the commissioner and all 30 clubs in a class-action lawsuit demanding the installation of protective netting from foul pole to foul pole at every MLB and MiLB ballpark. Lauridsen, who spent a decade blogging about the Golden State Warriors for the San Jose Mercury News, also won dismissal of a class-action lawsuit against MLB and its teams concerning the postponement of games during the COVID-19 pandemic.
