Manfred, finishing his third year in the post, oversaw several key sources of momentum for the sport including a second straight thrilling postseason, well-reviewed debuts of the MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., and Players Weekend, and the sale of the Miami Marlins. He continues to be dogged by pace-of-play concerns and lengthening game times. But changes are coming there for 2018, either through negotiation or unilaterally.
