Late decision creates a hot spot

One of the hottest hospitality spaces at Mercedes-Benz Stadium came late in facility development. Molly B’s, a restaurant/club concept, sold out about nine months after project officials finally decided how to fill that piece of valuable real estate in the northeast corner of the 100 level concourse.

Molly B’s, named for Arthur Blank’s mother, is a hybrid of Michael Mina’s at Levi’s Stadium and the Stadium Club at AT&T Stadium, according to Michael Drake, the Falcons’ senior vice president and chief revenue officer.

“Four years ago, we were telling architects to design something in this space, but we didn’t like it,” Drake said. “It got very expensive and we said, ‘Forget it.’”

But project officials revisited the space at the end of 2016 and hired local firms Cooper Carry and The Johnson Studio to come up with a solution, he said.

Molly B’s is restricted to 275 memberships and has views to the game, unlike the 49ers’ and Cowboys’ destinations. Falcons season-ticket holders pay $2,600 a year for a pregame feast that starts three hours before kickoff and runs through the first quarter. Atlanta United season-ticket holders pay $1,650 a year for appetizers and craft beer and cocktails ending at kickoff.

The restaurant opens to the public during the game, and it’s open for two hours after the game, Drake said. Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants runs Molly B’s, the stadium’s only dining space not operated by Levy.

“Atlanta United sold out quicker than the Falcons,” Drake said. “Demand was off the charts.”
