Celebrating with Filippell, TeamWork Online

Schools win! Schools win!

Representatives of James G. Blaine Elementary School accepted a $150,000 Diamond Project grant from Cubs Charities at their Go Cubs Go Day last month. The grant will support a new turf field surface and general field maintenance, logos, backstop and netting. Cubs Charities Board Chair Laura Ricketts, Cubs mascot Clark and Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel were on hand to celebrate.

Champion honored

There was plenty of action beyond the ice at the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto last month. “Hockey Night in Canada” host David Amber, NHL Players’ Association Executive Director Don Fehr and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman speak at Hockey SENSE, a summit on social equality and sustainable environments coordinated by the NHL and the NHLPA in partnership with Beyond Sport, on Sept. 19 at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
