Ron Turner
Principal, sports practice leader, Gensler

Turner is among the sports industry’s most experienced architects dating to his tenure with the former Ellerbe Becket in the 1980s. Since joining Gensler in 2008, he’s helped grow the sports practice immensely for a firm that already does work on a global scale. Gensler’s current projects include Los Angeles FC’s new stadium, which at a cost of $250 million will be MLS’s most expensive venue when it opens in 2018. Separately, the firm is designing a major retrofit of BMO Field in Toronto to accommodate the CFL Argonauts. In Frisco, Texas, Gensler’s Byron Chambers is part of the crew that designed the Dallas Cowboys’ new headquarters, which includes a 12,000-seat indoor stadium that the team will share with local high schools.
