Cordish is front and center in the trend to tie sports venues to adjoining mixed-use development. The family-owned Baltimore developer has more than $1 billion in projects underway, including Texas Live! in partnership with the Texas Rangers. The first phase covers a hotel and entertainment district next to Globe Life Park in Arlington. Elsewhere, phase two of Ballpark Village in St. Louis, across the street from Busch Stadium, revolves around residential, retail and office space, plus a hotel. In Philadelphia, phase two of Xfinity Live! will expand its reach to include a hotel and casino adjacent to Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field and Wells Fargo Center, the three venues that are part of the South Philly Sports Complex.
